Just a list of movies I’ve seen, which may or may not be of interest to anyone! 🙂

Date Movie Seen Overall Pros Cons
03-July-2016 The Free State of Jones Theater, Franklin, TN O Interesting story form the Civil War that I had never heard before, good acting. It seemed to go on forever and had so much detail that it could have been three movies!
01-July-2016 Eddie the Eagle Netflix, Brentwood, TN O Nice feel good story about perseverance and ambition.  High Jackman. Not the most riveting topic, odd facial expressions were distracting.
24-June-2016 World War Z Netflix, Brentwood, TN O Acting wasn’t bad, the idea for the ‘cure’ was original, good effects. Boring.  A zombie movie should be anything but boring!
15-June-2016 Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Airplane over the Pacific + Funny concept, strong female characters, Mr Darcy in a black leather trench coat, zombies! Fairly forced plot in some places, but what do you expect?
15-June-2016 The Revenant Airplane over the Pacific O Story of amazing endurance. A bit dull, minimal plot, pedestrian dialog.
20-May-2016 Hunt for the Wilderpeople Tea Tree Plaza Theater, SA ++ Had me laughing constantly, great one-liners, very human and relatable characters, quirky, great final chase scene, great cinematography. Basic plot is nothing new, but well executed.

  1. Have seen The Revenant and World War Z. I was expecting more from The Revenant, and I do like my zombie movies, dull or otherwise. I do like a bit of comedy in my Zombie flicks though so would recommend Zombieland, Warm Bodies and a relatively unknown British zombie movie called Doghouse. Some older ones I’d recommend that require a bit of brain power to digest are The Fountain (Jackman), Solaris (Clooney) and Love (The 2011 release, not the current French Erotica movie :D). All slow burners but some of my faves. If you didn’t like Vanilla Sky or Interstellar then there is a good chance you won’t like those recommendations.
